KAPL was founded on the banks of the river Periyar at Aluva, in 1945, by the late Shri. K.G.K. Panicker, the renowned Ayurvedacharya. He was a doyen in Ayurvedic medicines, a great visionary and a mentor. Now nearly half-a-century later his inspired creation epitomises all that is modern and state-of-the-art in Ayurveda. KAPL is today a leading Ayurvedic company, backed by the latest technology and highly qualified, dedicated staff.

KAPL has a modern manufacturing plant located at Athani, Alwaye. The plant has incorporated modern technology and balancing equipment so as to ensure quality and cost effective production. Separate facilities exists for manufacturing traditional and patent products. KAPL is a GMP(Good Manufacturers Practice) approved company.

Herbal Garden

Ayurvedic medicines are able to achieve the desired effect because the chosen variety of herbs are specially grown in ideal climate in the appropriate seasons. KAPL stands out amongst the few companies which maintains its own herbal garden with a wealth of over 1000 medicinal plants at Thali in Tamilnadu and at Kottai in Kerala. These herbal gardens also serve as guidance cells and seedling supply centres to other farmers, helping the preservation of many rare medicinal herbs from extinction.
